The Things We Notice
Cinnabar creates sculptural brass jewellery inspired by art, architecture, literature, travel, and the objects that stay with us long after we've encountered them.
We approach jewellery as more than adornment. Each piece begins as an observation, a memory, or a form before becoming something to wear.
Inspiration rarely arrives in a straight line.
Sometimes it begins with a lantern hanging in an old corridor. Sometimes with a bridge, a forgotten architectural detail, a passage from a novel, or a frame from a film.
Based in Kolkata and shaped by a love of travel, we collect these impressions wherever we find them. Over time, they become sketches, objects, and eventually jewellery.
Many of our pieces begin with form rather than fashion.
A lantern may become an earring. A monument may become a pendant. A fragment of architecture may find its way onto a collarbone.
Influenced by the language of sculpture, we create pieces with presence—objects intended to be collected, interpreted, and lived with.
At the heart of Cinnabar is a simple belief: we do not think objects complete us. We arrive complete.
Yet throughout life we explore different facets of ourselves. The collector. The romantic. The wanderer. The observer. The dreamer.
Fashion becomes part of that exploration. Not because it changes who we are, but because it allows us to express different dimensions of ourselves at different moments in time.
The objects we choose to wear become companions on that journey.
We are interested in objects that linger.
Objects that spark curiosity. Objects that invite conversation. Objects that remind us of a place, a story, or a feeling.
Cinnabar is our collection of such objects.
Designed for those who find meaning in the details.
